Join us for three days of intensive Wine Tasting in
the heart of Tuscany. During your stay with us you will
visit a variety of Vineyards in three different areas
of Tuscany. We take you to some of the finest producers
in the region, each chosen for either their unique or
unusual methods of production, their wonderful settings
and most important of all for the high quality of their
wine.
In each and every vineyard you will see how the wine
is made, visit the cellars, learn something about the
history behind the wine making and then partake in a tasting
of a selection of their best wines.
The first zone is Montalcino where you will taste the
Rosso di Montalcino, the Super Tuscans and the famous
Brunello. Montalcino is a village set on a hill south
of Siena, overlooking the Val D'Orcia on one side and
the sea on the other. 40 square kilometres of vineyards
surround Montalcino, split into more than 200 different
wine producers. Every Wine maker has his own theory for
producing the best wine, be it modern or traditional,
and we aim to show you numerous aspects, including organic
and bio-dynamic vineyards.
Another day will be spent in the area of Montepulciano
where the Nobile is made. Here we take you to see a very
aristocratic family who make a wonderful Nobile and a
very special Vin Santo aged for 7 years. There is also
the chance to taste some white wine on this day out.
One of the three days will be spent in Chianti, which
is set between the beautiful cities of Siena and Florence.
This is another stunning part of Tuscany with winding
roads and tiny villages and vineyards squeezed into every
spare metre of land. Here we give you the opportunity
to taste the Chianti Classico and other wonderful wines
of the region.
I can give lots of recommendations for accommodation
but ultimately the choice is yours and the booking is
made direct by you as all hotels and agri-turismos now
ask for direct bookings with a credit card, in line with
the policy which is now pretty much accepted worldwide.
These 3-Day Wine Weekends run throughout the season (March
to October inclusive) and can be booked for a long weekend
but also during the week upon request. Prices start at
Euro 375 per person for three full days of Wine Tastings.
